That Sweet Boy!!

I just love these pictures of Rykkan. He was so happy to be playing in the water as long as it was warm. Too funny! He is getting so big! He went in for his nine month check up and is 29 3/4 inches long and 23.3 pounds. He is in the 94th percentile in everything from length to weight to head size. They are all the same. That has never happened before with any of my kids. He thinks he is a big boy and climbs the stairs and stands up to furniture and walks along it. I think he just wants to go as fast as the other kids are going. He is my little sweetheart and is always happy and is such a social little guy. What a big surpise that he is a social baby with KC and I as parents. We all love him so much!

Just having fun one afternoon when it was warm. Rykkan even got in on the action. Since we didn't have a slip-n-slide we used a tarp and the kids thought it was great. Then they moved onto the trampoline. I tied the hose onto one of the poles and let it shower down on them. They had so much fun. I am so glad that my kids can have fun together.

This is sweet little Alayna. This is what happens during the summer when the older kiddos don't take naps and she doesn't think that she needs one either. She gets so worn out that she will just find a place and go to sleep. She curled up on the floor while we were busy and it took me a little while to find her. She looks like a little baby sleeping in that position, not so comfortable for me but she didn't seem to mind. I thought it was so cute. Love that little girl. She is growing up to fast!

These are just some random pictures this year. Most are spring pictures and you can tell with how little Rykkan is. I sure love my kids and I wouldn't trade any of them. They are so unique and are such a blessing to our family. Our sweet little Rykkan is our true happiness. It doesn't matter what is going on around here all of us will relax and laugh when we are with Rykkan. He makes us all smile. Kohnor is getting so grown up and becoming so independent. He has started mowing the lawn this summer and he really does a great job. I am sure he won't enjoy it as much next summer when it isn't a new thing but for now he really likes to do it. I have decided that Kellise is definitly ready to go to school. She has become very busy and a bit sassy! She is such a cute girl and loves to help with Rykkan. Alayna is changing so much. She is so sassy and a little independent but she still loves mommy! Loves to spend some quality time with me. Her eyes let you know exactly how she is feeling. They will either wrap you around her finger or let you know that she is Not happy with you. I have really enjoyed spending the summer with my kids and the fun things that we do together or just being together. I can't believe it is already time for school. It will be interesting with just Alayna and Rykkan home. They are so cute together and they are going to have so much fun as Rykkan gets older.

We decide to go to the races one day this summer. It is so fun to have it going because they haven't been doing it the last couple of years. My kids really enjoy going and they always love to spend time with Grandpa there. We invited Jeff and Krystin to go with us and we had a great time. It was so much fun. Alayna has never been. She enjoyed watching the horses as they rushed by. Rykkan just enjoyed being outside. He is such a happy little guy and enjoys just about anything. Well I guess I shouldn't say little since he is getting to be such a big boy. Kellsie and Kohnor enjoyed picking there favorite horse while they were saddling up. It was nice to get out as a family and have some fun!

So once again it has taken me a while to blog. Life has been kind of crazy and very busy so there never seems to be enough time in the day. I am not even blogging Christmas. Just feels like to long ago although we did have a great one. Everyone is growing and changing so quickly. We are loving our life and all it's craziness and can't believe that we are already into March of 2011. I can't believe Kellise will be five this month and ready to start school. Slow down time you are moving too fast!!

I decided to take some pictures of Rykkan so we had a little photo shoot. This is Rykkan at 2 months. Of course it couldn't go too smoothly. There was lots of spit up since that is his favorite thing to do and a dirty diaper as well as needing some food. But in the end we got some cute ones and it was fun! He is so cute! I don't know what I would do without him.

Rykkan Slade joined our family on November 23, 2010. Weighing in at a whopping 9lbs 5oz. and 21 1/2 inches long. What a surprise for us. He was a week early because my doctor was headed out of town and I wasn't going to have this baby without him. I am so glad we did since he wasn't a small fry. He is such a sweet boy and we are so glad that he has come to our family. KC and Kohnor are very excited that they are no longer out numbered. This picture of Alayna really cracks me up because she really did have a hard time in the beginning. It wasn't that she didn't love her new little brother. She just didn't want to share Mommy with him. Daddy was to take care of Rykkan. She has adjusted well and is a great helper. Having four beautiul children definitly keeps me busy but I really do love it. They are so sweet (most of the time. haha.) and have taught me so much. I love them so much. Rykkan has become Daddy's little buddy and they like to watch sports together it is so cute. Rykkan loves his big brother and sisters and lights up when they talk to him. It is there goal to make him smile and they all try to entertain him. We sure love this little boy and feel like he is such a blessing to our family.

We had a great Halloween this year. The Kids had such a good time picking out what they wanted to be. I think Kohnor changed his mind the most but finally decided on being a Viking. What a good looking viking he was. The girls decided they wanted to be bugs this year and they loved it. Alayna has been telling everyone that she was going to be a bumble bee it was so funny. Kellsie loved the little outfit I found for her. KC was gone hunting so we partied without him. We went to our ward party and played games and went trunk or treating. The kids had such a good time. KC made it home from hunting right after the party and the kids were so excited to show him their costumes. I think they missed their Dad. It was kind of nice to have Halloween on Sunday it gave us an excuse to stay home. It is the first year that we have actually handed out candy because we were home. The kids had a good time doing that. I had to keep bringing them back inside. Kohnor would stand outside with the bowl and hand out the candy. It was just easier for him then letting them come to the door. So Funny!! We have all had a great time and I am sure we have eaten way to much candy.

Carving Pumpkins!

This is the first year we have carved pumpkins in a while. We have been letting the kids paint them the last couple of years. I guess it is time to start carving again. They loved it. It is always so fun to watch the kids as they get into what they are doing. The true joy that comes over there face as they are doing something that is fun for them is my favorite thing to watch. You tend to loose that as you get older. They are growing and changing so much, I can't believe how grown up they are getting. We all got in on the action. The kids drew there faces, I helped them clean them out and KC welded the knife. Such a fun project!

Kohnor decided that he wanted to play flag football this year. He had such a good time. KC was the assistant coach this year and he loved it too! It was so fun to the games and watch "the boys" play. I am glad that KC was able to do that and spend some time with Kohnor. We may have a football player yet. They had a great season and met lots of new friends. I think KC has decided to be the head coach next year. Football here we come!

Kellsie decided that she was going to pose on her own for me. I was laughing so hard. We took the first ones of her standing and doing different things then we went into the faces. Everyone had a lot of fun in the pool this summer. It was fun to see the kids swim around. Kohnor learned to swim across the deep end so we were excited. Kellsie was learning to swim and Alayna was just happy to puddle around.

We went to Chad and Amy's to do some branding on the cows and all the fun things that goes with it. Always a fun experience and very intertaining to see all the guys wrestling with the calves and the kids wanting to ride them. We got a little four wheeling in as well. What a surprise.

So this is old news but wanted to put the pictures up anyway. It was so fun to go see Kohnor graduate from Kindergarten. I can't believe how grown up he is getting. He is now loving first grade and has transitioned into going all day like a champ. He loves it. The social butterfly makes friends where ever he goes.

Happenings!

Wow I can't believe that we have moved onto another year. We had a wonderful Christmas and New Years spending time with family and friends. My life has been so busy an hectic that the blog has not been a top priority. So I have caught things up even though I didn't share all that has been happening this is my only opportunity to write things down and do any journaling ecause I want to remember some of these precious memories. KC's foot is slowly starting to heal. It is definitly a slow going process. He comes home from work with an ankle swollen and in pain but keeps going anyway. It is gradually getting better but of course KC doesn't like to sit still long enough to give it a break. I am chasing the children and learning more everyday about myself. With KC being gone so much lately I have come to appreciate why there are two parents in a household. I love being able to stay home with my kids and watch them grow and learn. What a blessing it is. Even if it isn't always easy it is so worth it. Kohnor is now on the down hill side of kindergarten and I am amazed with how much he has learned. I am very proud of him. Sometimes going to school isn't his favorite thing when it would be so much fun to go with dad but he is having a good time anyway. Kellsie is growing up so fast and is all girl. She may like to play in the dirt but she thinks just like a girl and sometimes KC doesn't get it. I guess we are even since sometimes I don't understand Kohnor and he always gets it. She loves her babies and is such a little mother. It has been fun to see the girls really start playing together while Kohnor is at school in the mornings. She is very sweet to her little sister. Alayna is our funny, fiesty little baby who isn't much of a baby anymore. She definitly knows what she wants and lets you know about it but is starting to be a little nicer about it and asks please and thank you. She does a great job asking in sign language and I giggle everytime she does because it is so cute. She always has a funny grin on her face when she asks. We are all having a great time and enjoy spending time together. We hope that you had a wonderful 2009 but you have a fabulous time in 2010.

Christmas Morning

We had so much fun on Christmas day. I love to see the excitement on our little ones faces as they open their presents and watch everyone else do the same. Kellsie was so funny. On Christmas Eve she let me know that she was going to rip open her presents with her teeth, that is how excited she was. I didn't actually think she was going to but sure enough she did. I had to get it on camera and KC and I just laughed watching her. Alayna really started to get into it and didn't want help from anyone. Total Independance. Kohnor was very excited to see what he got, LEGOS which he absolutely loves and his slippers that he requested multiple times. What a blessing each one of my children has been in my life. We are so blessed to be able to celebrate Christmas and the birth of our Savior. It was important to me for the kids to understand what Christmas is really about so we talked about it alot. There is always a special feeling in the air around Christmas time that I love. I am so grateful for my family and the time I have been given to share my life with them.

Every year I try to make matching pj pants for all of us. KC picked out the material this year a the kids loved it. Do you think KC's choice had anything to do with the material being BSU colors? I decided to add a little flare to the girls' and added a ruffle to the bottom. I thought they turned out cute. It made me realize just how short Alayna's little legs were. I finally caught everyone this year for a minute so we could take a picture. We had so much fun and the kids were so funny. They each took pictures of each other and had to jump up to see how it turned out between each one including Alayna. She was so funny with when she wanted to sit and be happy in a picture or wanted nothing to do with it and would just get up and walk away. I love sweet children and funny husband so much. They are such a blessing in my life.

Winter Fun!!

After the ward Christmas party we got together with a few of our friends a had a little fun in the snow. We hooked the sleigh up to the four-wheeler and took off. Evertons brought over their little four-wheeler so Jason and Kohnor didn't want to do anything else. The girls had a blast being pulled in the sleigh and the babies wanted to ride in with their dads every trip around the block. It was so cold but they all loved it. I don't know who had more fun the kids or the adults. Quite a site to see the us adults looking the same age as the kids. Such a blessing to remember the pure joy and happiness of childhood. Thanks for all the fun everyone.

The Farm

We went down to visit the farm and can some soup. We had a great time. We didn't get to see grandpa much he was gone in the truck but had a great time with grandma. The kids loved to help with the chores. Wish they were that excited to help me. Its much more fun to go help feed the cows. Kohnor and Kellsie helped with throw the hay to the cows while Alayna chase the cats. So glad we could visit. Thanks Mom.

Trick or Treating!

We went trick or treating with our friends the Evertons and there family. They had been watching the kids while KC and I were at the BSU game so we had to catch up with them. They had such a good time. Kohnor was so into it he wouldn't even stop for a picture. They sure got a lot of candy. I don't remember getting such good candy. This was also the first year that we have been home long enough to have trick or treaters at our house. It was fun to see all the costumes and hand out the candy. Our friend Heather that we haven't seen in years came up for the BSU game and the weekend and we had such a great time. So fun to hang out.

We had a Halloween party the night before Halloween and had a bunch of friends come over. It was so much fun. It was opptional to dress up so a couple of friends and I decided to dress up as 80's hotties and boy were we. So it really has been a while because Kohnor has lost his second tooth before I get to document his first one. He is so funny. He decided to open a package with his teeth the first time and about pulled the first one. It was really loose has we headed to Utah but I thought for sure it would wait to come out until we returned home. Not so much. He worked on it and worked on it to where it about fell out on its own I barely had to pull it. He was so excited and wanted to show everyone. He just lost his second and our friend Katee pulled it out for him. She did a great job it just popped right out on his shirt. I can't believe how fast he is growing and how much he is changing. I am so proud of him. He is doing well in school and loves it and all that he is learning. He comes home and teaches Kellsie. He is such a big help. I sure love him.

So I decided to update the pictures of my children. Since I didn't have a lot of time and I feel like once they are ready I want to take them as soon as possible. I decided to do them in my backyard. Well some ended up in the front yard but all were close to home which I love. They really did pretty well. I had the biggest problem with Alayna she just wasn't in the mood to smile for me. it took all afternoon to get her to smile and that was after the pictures were all done. She was playing in the front yard and we played peek a boo around the tree. Lynndi helped with the kids so it made things easier. I loved how they turned out. I am one proud Momma. They are so adorable. I am very blessed to be a Mother to these three wonderful children. I love them so much.

This is the first time Alayna had rollers in her hair. She did great while I was puttin them in and I was so excited to see how it would turn out. Well she fell asleep so they were in a lot longer then planned. She looked like a bad perm job. With such a tight curl that wouldn't relax it looked terrible. It really was kind of funny though. Next time they will stay in like hot rollers and it will be much better. She is such a cutie. She makes us all laugh with her funny antics.

Trying new things.

This is just some of the canning that I have been doing this summer. It really has been kind of fun. I have done most of it on my own which is a first for me because I usually do it with my mom. We didn't have time this summer. I tried some new things this year at least for me. I did some pepper jelly which KC has decided that he loves and we have to have some as part of the BSU parties when they are playing out of town. Don't knock it until you try it. Its Yummy!! I tried salsa for the first time and it turned out pretty good. A little spicy but I have decided that I like spicy! I tried some butter nut squash too. I am so excited for that. I love it and now I just have to drain the water and heat. There tends to be a little prep work for it so it will be quick and easy. That was my longest project. I didn't even know that anything had to be pressure cooked for 90 min. It is so neat to see it all stacked on my shelves. It is so worth the effort.

The kids love to ride the four wheeler when ever they get a chance too. They are so cute to watch. I can't believe that Kohnor is actually starting to look big on it. Kellsie tends to be a little show off and we have to remind her to focus but she is doing a great job. Alayna doesn't care who is driving as long as she get to ride. She laughs and giggles as you drive her around. So cute.

First Day of Kindergarten!

We celebrated another first in August. Kohnor
started his first day of school. He was so cute.
All business getting ready and then we were of to
school. He wanted me to stay by him until they
all lined up in thier classes. He has a friend from
church that is in his class with him so they lined up
together and he didn't care if I was there anymore.
He didn't even look back. It has been an adjustment
but he really likes it. He still loves the weekends but
likes to go to school and learn. He is just getting so grown
up. I sure love him.

So my baby girl has turned a year old! I can't believe it.

where has the time gone. She had a great birthday party.

Lots of friends and family over for a pool party. She loved

all of the attention and was so cute to watch. When she was

presents you can really tell she is a girl. She was way excited for

they clothes and got really mad when Daddy tried to take them away

so she could open another present. She really got into her smush cake.

She pulled all of the frosting balloons of and got so excited about the

project that it was up her nose too! We sure love her. I didn't get a chance

to write something on her birthday with my computer crashed but here

is her tribute. She is such a sweet and loving little girl. She is learning so

much and has such a personality. She definitly knows what she wants and

has no problem letting you know too. She loves her brother and sister and

they make her laugh all the time. We are so grateful to have her in our family.

I took these on the trip home from Bear Lake. We had such a great time
with our friends and just relaxed and played. The weather was a little colder then
in the past but a little wind and rain didn't stop the fun. Made great memories.

The Oregon Trail Museum

In August we went to Bear Lake for a little vacation. We went with some friends and had a great time. I didn't take a lot of pictures besides the day at the museum but Casie did so I will have to still them. So the first day that we were their we went with K.C.'s Grandma and Aunt and went to the Oregon Trail Museum. It was so much fun. We took a tour and it was considered a journey across the country so we had to get supplies and a wagon then headed out. We went on an asimilated wagon ride and I really liked it. Kohnor and Kellsie didn't seem to be too thrilled with it. It was really neat and I learned a lot about pioneers. Their was an exibit out fro nt of the museum and that is where the kids had such a good time taking pictures. They are so funny.

So KC and I went on a date the other night and this is what we came home to. Kohnor had a little run in with the front drive way. I guess Kenzie was chasing him and he tripped and the sidewalk won the battle. He sure is a tough little guy. I guess he isn't very little anymore. I can't believe he is about to start kindergarten. Alayna has decided that she loves babies. That could be anyone from her age and younger. I guess she doesn't realize that she is a baby too. She is so cute to watch she gets all excited and wants to touch them and just giggles and smiles a cheese grin. We were watching Mckenzie and Paislee and I put the girls on the floor together and I couldn't resist getting the camera. Alayna was so excited she just loves her little cousin. Well I wouldn't say little just younger. Anyway Alayna's face is priceless.

Happy Fourth of July

We had a great fourth of July! It was kind of low key compared previous years but we had a wonderful time. We started with the ward breakfast then went to the parade. The kids loved it. Then we kind of just hung out until the afternoon when we had a bunch of friends come over for a pool party and BBQ. Then we went and watched the fireworks. Alayna even enjoyed them. We decided to end the night with fireworks here and the kids enjoyed it but decided that it was a little loud. I guess by 11:30 pm they were a little tired. But we played hard and had lots of fun. I feel like my life is flying by and I am just trying to hang on for dear life. There are so many wonderful things that I have been blessed with. I have a wonderful husband who loves me and makes me laugh. I have three great kids that amaze me everyday. What an fabulous experience being a mother has been. I have learned so much and it has mostly been about myself. It has definately not been easy and their have been days when I have wondered what I have gotten myself into but the joy is so much sweeter after those experiences. I am just grateful to be alive and have a wonderful family. I am so glad I have the gospel and the opportunity to be with them forever. I am truly enjoying this season of my life. Happy Birthday to me! Life is great!

Getting down and Dirty!

So we have been working in the yard today and planting the garden so while we are working the kids became sidetracked. Let me set the seen, freshly tilled back yard and water running all over because we are draining the pool and getting it ready for summer. So Kohnor and Kellsie couldn't resist playing in the MUD! They were so funny. They were dancing and running around and couldn't resist getting their bikes to go mud bogging! I am just glad Alayna was too young to join the fun so she was the only one to stay clean. She didn't seem to mind! What would life be like without the sweet inocence and joy of a child. I sure love each one of my children and marvel at their individuality.

Adventures in May

We have been having a great time as you can see. We went to Chad and Amy's to brand our cows. Which was quite an entertaining experience. Between branding, chasing and riding their was plenty to do. Thanks for the great entertainment Amy. Spending some time with Mom and Dad for Mom's Birthday what would I do without my wonderful parents! Learning and growing as a family and seeing the kids growing up too fast! What a great life.

Mom celebrated her birthday on the 12th and we went to GF to make her a birthday dinner. I started doing this when talking to my Mom that no one ever made her birthday dinners. She has spent so many years taking care of everyone else that a couple of years ago I started making her a birthday dinner because she definity deserves it. So KC had a birthdayon the third of this month. He turned the big "32". Wow how time flies. I remember celebrating his 25th birthday right before we were married. It feels like yesterday I can't believe it has been seven years. He is sporting the shirt that the kids gave him and I took him to a Boise Burn game. He also picked his birthday dinner which was Swedish Meatballs and they were yummo! I am so thankful for my Sweet husband who takes such good care of us. Kohnor's Birthday

Kohnor's Birthday was on Easter and it brought back
so many memories since it was on Easter when I went
into labor with him. I can't believe he is five. We spent the
weekend at Chad and Amy's hanging sheetrock and Kohnor
had a blast riding his 4 wheeler and playing with all the cousins.
I can't believe it has taken me this long to write about it. He is
such an amazing boy and he is so sweet. He is becoming so
grown up and I don't know if I am ready for that. I don't know
what life would be like without him. He has taught me so many
things about being a mother and I love him so much. Here's to you
Buddy! You are amazing and we love you so much!

Today is Kellsie's birthday and I cannot believe that she is three. Time really does go by too fast. I have just been thinking about where I was three years ago and what I felt. It was such a sweet experience when she was born. When the doctor said it was a girl I couldn't believe it. I was so surprised. I just never thought that I would have a girl. She was so beautiful. I cried and then I cried some more because I was just amazed that she was a girl. She is so funny and says the cutest things. She has been such a joy in our life and I don't know what I would do without her. This day is all yours! We love you Baby!

Four Wheeling

Yesterday was such a nice day that we decided to take the family out and go four wheeling. The Everton Family went with us and we had a blast. We have been having a little bit of spring fever with the weather being so nice and couldn't wait to go riding. Even our little Alayna joined in on the fun. We bundled her up and strapped her to the front of me and off we went. It was a little muddy but that only made it more fun. We made a picnic out of it and burned some burgers and just enjoyed being out in the fresh air. We had so much fun and can't wait to do it again.

They usually help me rinse but not wash. Kohnor washed and Kellsie rinsed and they did a fabulous job! I am so proud of them and love them so much! Thanks for your help.

We went to CHUCK E CHEESE with our friends the Evertons. The kids had such a great time and of course us adults had to get in on the action too! It was so fun to see the kids get so excited and light up at all the fun things to do. They are so sweet and innocent. What a beautiful gift children are. They make you realize what is important and to stop and enjoy life as you go.

The other day we were getting the kids ready for bed and Kellsie was in the process of putting on her pj's but got distracted while I was upstairs putting Alayna in her jammies. I come downstairs and Kellsie had strapped herself into Alayna's carseat and had the pacifier in her mouth. She pulled the pacifier out and gave me a big smile and said "I'm a baby too!" I laughed so hard. She has quite a funny sense of humor that comes out on a regular basis. So we have had to remind her that she is the big sister and not the baby. What would we ever do without her!

On the Mend

Eveyone is finally starting to get better and not cough twenty four hours a day. The kids went back to the doctor yesterday and they are all clear. Kellsie better and Kohnor and Alayna are not far behind. We are done with the treatments and that is wonderful because it becomes quite tiring when Alayna cries through the whole thing and you have to do it several times a day. So we are a lot happier. The kids are getting their energy back and sometimes I forget how much energy they really have when they get sick and slow down. I really tried not to get sick but it came on anyway. Although it is not nearly as bad as the rest of the family mine is just a cold. I am very thankful for that because someone has to take care of everyone. Even though everyone has been sick and it has been a trial I feel very blessed because things could have been a lot worse. With how sick the kids were we could have easily been in the hospital. What a blessing that we did not have to add that to this interesting experience. So we are grateful everyone is feeling better and hope to make it through the winter season without a repeat.

I know that it has been a long time since I have blogged and there has been a lot going on. I just have been busy. So now I am all caught up. We came back from Glenns Ferry and we all decided to get sick. Well I am ok but I am sure that I will be next I just won't get it until everyone else is over it. I thought that we were just going to bounce back and we didn't so Monday Alayna had a doctor's appointment and I decided that I was going to take Kohnor and Kellsie in too. Well guess what, they all have bronchitis. Kellsie also had an ear infection. Poor Alayna has to wait to get her shots because she is too sick. Boy o Boy does she not like to take her treatments. She screams through the whole thing. At least Kohnor and Kellsie are on an inhaler. Kohnor was actually the worst and had to have two treatments and an x-ray to check for pneumonia but ended up being ok after the treatments. He still has to go in on Wednesday to be checked again. Poor guy, he has just been hanging out he is definitely not his normal busy self. I almost forgot our little Alayna barely weighed in at 12 pounds. She may not weigh very much but she is quite long. I think it is funny that between KC and I we have such a tiny girl. So we are having lots of fun at our house with everyone being down and out. We can't forget KC he is going through the same things as the kids and being such a trooper since he gets to be sick and still help me with the kids. I have decided that maybe I should move out so that I don't get it because I definitely don't want it. So these are some of our exciting adventures our family is having as we start the new year. I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year. Welcome 2009. I can't believe how fast time flies.

Stocking Project

I have been wanting to make stockings for I think the last three years but I have never gotten around to it so I decided that this year I was going to make some. I am kind of OCD about having stockings that match and that is why I really have wanted to make them. So I went and got the material and then had my friend Melanie embroider our names on the fabric and then I sewed them up. Thanks Melanie for doing such a great job. I was really pleased with how they turned out and I have decided that there are a few things that I can do with my sewing machine. Still so much to learn though. My other project that I never was able to take a picture of the way that I wanted to was the pj pants. I don't have a group picture of everyone but you can see them in the pictures of Christmas morning. I even made little Alayna a pair and they were so sweet and tiny. I thought it was so cute to have all of us matching. I have decided that I really enjoy sewing even though I am not very good at it. I still have so much to learn but I love the challenge. It is fun to see a finished product.

Sledding Fun

The day after Christmas we went to Glenns Ferry to spend some time with my family. Cory and Kim were up and we never get a chance to seem them since they live in Texas. It was so much fun to hang out with everyone. Of course we had the annual Mills family basketball game. It was great to get back on the court for a little while although I am a little rusty. We had yummy food, played some games and laughed a lot. The snow was great for sledding and we had a wonderful time trying it out. Nothing like a little snow to bring out the kid in you. It was so fun to see all the cousins playing together. They sure are growing up. We stayed through the weekend and didn't make it home until Tuesday stopping along the way to help Chad and Amy a little on there basement. It is so fun to have holidays so that you can spend time with family and have some fun.

We had lots of fun on Christmas day playing in the snow. I always loved having a white Christmas when I was little, I still love it. We rode four wheelers and KC hooked up the sleigh to one and took all of the kids for a ride. Even our neighbor Drake got in on the fun.

We had a great Christmas. We are so very blessed. The kids made out like bandits but I couldn't resist spoiling them just a little. They are too cute not to. KC's mom was able to be up here for Christmas this year. We had so much fun. It is the first year that she has been able to be up here with us for Christmas and it was great to have her here. Kohnor and Kellsie loved to have Grandma up here. We had a great day. KC's family came out and we had lots of food and lots of laughs. Thanks for sharing the day with us as we celabrated the birth of our Savior.

The kids had a great time with grandma and grandpa when we were visiting. They built castles with blocks and played with the legos. I didn't get a picture of their lego building. Grandma helped Kohnor and Kellsie build a house to go with the ship that they had built. It even had windows and a door. It was so cute to see Grandpa and Alayna watching TV together. Thanks for letting us come and visit, we had a great time.

Canning

So I know that canning in December sounds a little odd but better late then never. The kids and I went to Glenns Ferry to do some canning this last week. Since is hadn't been too cold until now there were a few things left in the garden. So I canned some beets, making both normal and pickled. The pickled are KC's favorite! We also canned some soup and it is so Yummy and EASY! I decided that I would also try canning some carrots. We will see if the family likes them. These are pictures of our hard work. Mom canned carrots and soup too. Grandpa took the kids out to the garden to help dig some carrots. They were such good helpers. They love to follow grandpa around the farm and riding in the tractor with him.

Glittering Lights

Kohnor was so excited to decorate for christmas. I kind of put him off because I just wasn't ready. I just can't believe that this year is almost over. Anyway we pulled everything out and had a wonderful time decorating. I am sure that the kids did. I don't know about me. I may not seem to organized but I like to be when I am decorating and the kids were pulling things out faster than I could put them up so I felt like I was in a tornado of decorations but it turned out great. It was so fun to see the Kohnor and Kellsie's faces light up with each new strand of lights we put up. They really enjoyed decorating the Christmas tree. K.C. helped put on the ones that were to high for them to reach and we kind of had to balance it out a bit because there were a lot of branches with two decorations but it was so worth it. It just made me smile watching them at work. That is when I really started to feel the Christmas spirit. Seeing the look of delight on there faces made me realize how special this time of year is. They truly know the real meaning of Christmas

I think that the only way that I could get Alayna to smile was to have Kohnor help me. She really does adore her brother and sister. Bath Tub Fun!

Alayna really enjoys her bath. She gets so excited kicking and swinging her arms that she slides right down off of her little bath seat. By the time I took the pictures she had wiggled almost all the way off. She is such a cutie pie. She always makes us laugh. The weekend before Thanksgiving. K.C. went down to Reno to the BSU game and the rest of us played here at home. So on Saturday I decided that I was going to take some pictures of the kids. I have been wanting to do it since before Alanyna was born so I finally just did it. It really was quite an interesting experience trying to get all the children ready and keeping them happy for the pictures. Lets just say I was a little stressed. Now that it is over I am looking back and realizing how fun it really was. I will always remember that day and how crazy it was. I am so glad that I did stick it out. They were so cute. I love my kids so much and I am so proud to be their mother. They are definately growing up too fast!!

Beautiful

Ok! So I have never been one for taking nature pictures but I couldn't help it. Tonight as I was cooking dinner I looked out the window and the sky took my breath away. The sunset was absolutely beautiful. You would never guess these pictures were taken on my front step over the roof tops across the street. It made me realize how beautiful the world is around me and how lucky I am to live in this wonderful place. I love the crisp air of fall and all the changing colors.

Cleaning up the Leaves

This last week we cleaned up all the leaves in our front yard from our big maple tree. We had a ton of leaves but not nearly as many as previous years because we had are tree trimed this year and I think they took at least half the tree when they left. I couldn't believe the difference. Kohnor was having a blast watching everything that was going on. KC was running the leaf blower and have a great time doing it. Our friend John B. came over with his riding lawnmower and equipment and we were able to finsh in record time. Thanks John. The girls missed out on the party. Kellsie was sound asleep in the truck which you can see and Alayna was snoozing away in the house. It was nice to spend some time outside with the boys.

Seeing Great Grandma and Grandpa

On the way down to Ava's baby blessing we decided to stop in and see Grandma and Grandpa McCombs. It was so great to see them. We never get the chance to see them often enough. I didn't get a chance to get a picture of Great Grandpa holding Alayna but was able to capture the moment with Great Grandma holding her. It was so sweet to see. It was fun to see how they were and tell them a little of what is going on in our crazy lives. Love you Grandma and Grandpa.

So while the boys that would be KC and Mckay were off deer hunting we decided to have some fun with the kids so we tie died shirts and then we put faces on them to look like pumpkins. The kids had a great time and they were very proud of their shirts. I thought they looked adorable. This is one project we will repeat. Maybe for a different holiday.

Kellsie made me laugh so hard tonight and I just had to share. Kohnor and Kellsie were helping me make dinner tonight and I was cutting up an onion. My eyes were just watering like crazy and the kids were asking what was wrong. I told them it was the onion but the didn't believe me. So I kept going with dinner preparations and had put the cutting board next to Kellsie with out realizing it and she pipes up MOM! It's burning my eyes. I asked what she was talking about and she said with her sassy voice THE CUTTING BOARD- Go Put it in the Sink!! I just starting laughing so hard. Who would have thought my two year old would have so much to say about it. It makes me realize how much she is growing up. She surprises me everyday.
